The gig last night at the Hon Bar went really well. A few people approached me after the show, including a lovely couple who have friends who teach in Sudan, and the lovely lady was part Greek, so she enjoyed the Middle-Eastern twist I’ve put in the music. 2 birds with one stone =).

Last night has encouraged me to be a bit more proactive at getting and giving out information. I will work on starting a mailing list to take with me, and also to create cards with the website on them to give out to people. I wouldn’t go as far as making small flyers because I don’t have too many shows are the moment, so I think the cards would be a better idea, and they’re easier to carry =).

Tonight I’ll be going over to the Java Mammas open mic in Riesterstown, MD. Its always a pleasure to be there, everyone is so amazing, talented, and supportive of each other. Such a great crowd. Tonight I get to keep my promise to them and play my Michael Jackson cover. Last week I had semi-promised I would learn an MJ song in his honor, and I was able to actually keep my word. I’ve played three times so far and I’m comfortable with how everything is fitting together, so I think they’re all in for a pleasant performance.

For some reason ReverbNation widgets don’t want to work on this blog, its kind of frustrating, because they can work almost ANYwhere, but not here. So I’m trying to find other means of posting my gig calendar, mailing list, & music on this blog. So far no luck, so if you know of a way, please let me know.

Not many people know that I’m a huge Michael Jackson fan, may he rest in peace. Growing up in Sudan the only way my parents could make me sit still and not cause trouble, was to play me video tapes. I would be glued to the screen in the living room. My two favorite tapes were a Tom & Jerry tape, and a music video tape. The music video one consisted of many Michael Jackson videos, such as “Thriller” and the making of thriller, and I believe “Moonwalker”. So I learned how to sing “We are the world” before even entering pre-school, without even knowing what I’m saying.

That’s why Michael has a special spot in my heart. It was a dream of mine to be famous enough to meet him in person, but unfortunately that dream has passed away too.

In his honor I taught myself “Billie Jean”, I played it for the 1st time last Saturday at the Sweet Bakery & Cafe, everyone gave me the thumbs up on adding it to my ever short cover song list.

I’m planning to learn one more, but I haven’t decided which one yet. I want to choose an obscure or forgotten gem, instead of another one of his major hits, just to keep it interesting, and to remind people of the amazing songs you can find in his albums.

The show at TeaVolve last night went really well, many of our beloved friends came out to see us, business was defiantly good for the place =).
I’ve never been there before, it was very lovely, they had a great selection of tea, alcoholic, and alcoholic tea drinks, interesting.
I personally don’t drink alcohol, but was very excited with the flavors of bubble tea they had, awesome.

There is only one major show for me next week, it will be at the Frederick Cellar in Frederick Maryland. I will be sharing the night with the lovely Teporah, that pretty much guarantees the smoothness of the evening. I also hope the atmosphere encourages me to play more of my slow seductive tunes, we’ll see how it goes.

I just bought www.mosno.net, sweeeeet. I’m very excited about this, I officially have an online identity of some kind, I think this will encourage me to get cracking at building a site and hosting it. For the moment, it will be forwarded to this blog, since its my most online activity for the moment, but God Willing an official site will be created soon.

I’m excited about tonight, my good friend Brennan plays with his new band for the first time tonight in Catonsville, many of us will be there for support, should be a fun night.
